Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) links visitors with organic farmers, promotes an educational and cultural exchange and builds a global community conscious of ecological farming practices.

WWOOF was founded in 1971 and is one of the world’s first educational and cultural exchange programs. Today, WWOOF is in more than 132 countries around the world (and growing).

WWOOF Spain is the national organization helping to create local WWOOFing opportunities in Spain and to promote sustainable farming as a lifestyle.

Visitors, or 'WWOOFers', share in daily life with their host and learn about organic agriculture, while spending about half of each day helping out on a farm.

I had a wonderful time with Pedro and Marga and a fantastic first WWOOFing experience. I felt very comfortable. You have your own room, and you share the kitchen, bathroom, and living room with the other WWOOFer. The cleaning schedule and chores are very well organized, and on Mondays, Marga buys everything you need for the week. The family is very friendly and welcoming, and there were often festivals in the next town that we went to together. Thank you so much for this wonderful time and your hospitality!

Time we passed with Beatriz and Stefan was very interesting and insightful. Despite the hot weather, we found it very enjoyable being in nature. We were working during the mornings, then had a long break and then restarted the work when sun became already not so strong. We were mostly working separately and the tasks varied from taking care of chicken coop and collecting pine needles to shoveling gravel, sand and preparing new vegetable beds. In our free time we also had an opportunity to discover the National Park and the area nearby, which is ideal if you love hiking like us. It was our first WOOF project and we have received lots of recommendations on further readings and how to study permaculture. Beatriz and Stefan gladly shared experience on both what work and what didn't for them, which we find very valuable for our future journey. Mi experiencia en casa de Amalia ha sido increible, agradezco muchísimo el buen trato que tuvo conmigo durante toda mi estancia y lo acogedora que ha sido su familia durante todo el tiempo. En la finca se respira paz y está sumergida entre montañas llenas de vacas, caballos y eucaliptos. Los horarios son flexibles y con los fines de semana libres hay un montón de playas y sitios para visitar. La comida es maravillosa y con Amalia se puede hablar de todo, es una persona tremendamente fuerte y con gran conocimiento, agradezco mucho poder haber escuchado sus historias y aprendido de ellas. Trabajar en este proyecto ha sido muy gratificante y espero haber podido ser de ayuda para que Amalia y su familia disfruten del hogar tan acogedor que están logrando crear. Gracias a Zoe, Lluc, Álvaro y Li por hacerme sentir como en casa y compartir las comidas, risas y juegos de mesa, me lo he pasado bomba. Ya sabéis que si en algún momento me echáis de menos solo tenéis que subir al árbol y allí estaré... jadeando.

Santiago was a wonderful host! He led us on many tours of other villages in the area and always had a fun story to tell. The day to day work was quite light, with just doing some daily chores, cooking lunch and dinner, and one odd job every now and then around the yard. Oteruelos is a beautiful spot as well, so getting to experience the Spanish countryside lifestyle was just splendid. Santiago is also a Spanish teacher so he's very patient and good to practice the language with. I highly recommend a stay here in Oteruelos!

Juan was a fantastic host, I really enjoyed staying with him and seeing his way of life, it was a truly wonderful time. The house has glorious views, a nearby waterfall, the mountains are gorgeous. There was not a strict routine which suited me very well. It was all in all a ruddy good time.

¡Me ha encantado trabajar en Chiral! Repetiría sin dudas. He estado allí durante 3 semanas y he tenido la oportunidad de disfrutar de un paisaje fenomenal, aprender sobre los árboles y las reformas, conocer a mucha gente increíble, bañarme en ríos, disfrutar de la lluvia, comer súper rico, hacer caca con unas vistas impagables y jugar con la perrita más amable del mundo entero. Belén y Guillem son dos personas increíbles. Me sentí súper cuidada durante toda mi estancia, incluso antes de llegar, ya que me ayudaron mucho indicándome cómo llegar hasta Chiral. Con elles es muy sencilla la convivencia porque son personas abiertas, relajadas y conscientes. No he tenido ningún problema para comunicarme; me he sentido segura, respetada e incluida en todo momento. El trabajo es duro, sobre todo cuando hace mucho calor durante el verano, pero ¿qué trabajo no lo es? Lo importante para mí es tener buena compañía, y con elles lo he conseguido. El alojamiento fenomenal, tenía una pequeña casita, la primera que "resucitaron", en el medio del bosque, una paz increíble, la mañana cuando iba a trabajar me encontraba ciervos y vacas, muchas vacas. Os aconsejo a todes probar la experiencia en Giral/Chiral y experimentar la sensación de dar nueva vida a un pueblo abandonado, viga a viga ✨

He pasado una semana estupenda con Amanda ! Es una persona curiosa y tan abierta a los demás, tiene una energía desbordante que me hizo sentir cómodo desde el primer momento. Aunque durante la semana no pudimos dedicarnos tanto al agroforestal debido al tiempo y al calor, he aprendido mucho sobre cosméticos naturales, he podido ayudarla a arreglar un poco más su terreno e incluso a utilizar el alambique para destilar plantas en su laboratorio ! A pesar de que solo fue una semana, tuvimos tiempo para trabajar, escuchar mucha música y cocinar juntes. Cada comida terminando con una conversación cada vez más interesante. Solo puedo desearle lo mejor para sus diferentes proyectos ! Ha sido un encuentro inolvidable.

Such an amazing 3 weeks! Working with Slavi and Anna is such a pleasure, and of course all the kids are lovely. Their hospitality is off the charts, and the place you stay in is extremely comfortable and spacious. The experience is so pleasing and educational, working with the sheeps is a great fun. Plus the area itself is great with a lot of things to do there- the beach, Girona, many other villages and Dali’s museums are very near. I will say that knowing a bit of Spanish at least is greatly helpful since not everyone knows English in the family. Thank you for the amazing time!

Francis was an incredible host. He made us feel very comfortable in his home. His love of nature is apparent in the beautiful surroundings of the garden. We will be forever grateful for this experience, and for all the knowledge we gained from him. He is also an excellent cook! el momento de 3 semanas que he pasado a la moli fue una pasada. I found a family there, and memories I will never forget. This is with heavy heart that I leave this place.
