WHO WE ARE We are a non-commercial project, focusing on syntropic agriculture, permaculture, soil regeneration, reforestation and self-reliance. The farm is in constant evolution and there are a lot of projects ongoing, all fitting into this vision. Think of syntropic gardens, vegetable gardens, worm compost, natural swimming pool, mushroom growing to name a few, and we all take care of them, together with the general maintenance of the place. We value diversity, individuality and togetherness and we share the same love for nature and land regeneration, always trying to put intention and attention in everything we do, while being in the present moment. We follow permaculture and syntropic principles and at the same time we highly value a down-to-earth and moderate approach, leaving space for trial and error and new ideas. At the moment the two owners and three volunteers are living on the land. The owners, who are the founders of a world-wide known methodology that teaches body attention, found this beautiful 7 hectares land in 2004, after a long search through all south of Europe, till they found what they envisioned. We relate to nature as we teach and relate to bodies, as something to care for, nourish and let grow to its natural potential. This is our vision for the future of this place. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We welcome people who are mature and responsible (this not being a question of age), positive, honest, energetic and happy to work (not doing things as a duty or as employees), flexible and like to live in a community of individuals. We are welcoming volunteers with different backgrounds, as we would like to be a diverse community, with individuals who are passionate about different interests and can enrich each other and the project. Ideally, we would like to welcome someone who is already familiar with community life and alternative agricultural practices. You will have the opportunity to share what you are good at and like to do, to learn and grow, both on work and personal level. We find it important to be open to new ideas, for personal growth through harmoniously living together. To keep the project flowing smoothly, open and direct communication is essential in our community. According to the weather, season and other unpredictable situations, working hours might slightly change so we consider flexibility an important skill, together with the ability to take responsibility and work independently. If you have have any pets, please mention it in advance! PRACTICALITIES The finca is completely off-grid, with solar panels and hot water. There is no phone signal, but we have very good Wi-Fi. We live in a pretty remote place and the nearest town is about a 20 minutes drive, where you find everything you need, like grocery shops, pharmacies, restaurants etc. The distance to the beach/coast is about a 45 minutes drive. Everyone has their own private space. There are communal areas that we take care of together, like the kitchen, bathrooms, a workshop and even a music room! The weather is very varied and can be extreme, very windy with heavy rains though the year, which allow us to harvest much water. Summers are generally very hot and dry, and we made our own natural swimming pool to cool down during the day :) We contribute with about 5 hours of communal work a day, 5 days a week, in exchange for food and accommodation. On working days, we like to first meet up for a coffee/tea chat while discussing the day plan. Tasks are normally organised and shared on an agenda, so we can keep track of progress and achievements. In your free time you can make use of all the facilities, discover the surroundings or simply chill by the pool, as you like! Most of us have personal projects going on beside volunteering work, so there is plenty of time for your passions and creations. READY TO START? We ask for a minimum commitment of 1 month to start. During this period we will have time to get to know ech other and see if there is a match for a longer stay at the finca. If all this resonates to you, or you still have any questions, we would love to hear from you! Come and be part of something beautiful - a life rooted in respect for nature, community and regeneration.
