Granja ecológica situada en la zona más verde de la Isla de Gran Canaria, a diez minutos caminando del pueblo más cercano, que cuenta con todos los servicios. La zona ofrece muchísimas posibilidades para la práctica del senderismo y la observación de flora propia de la laurisilva, bosque húmedo autóctono. Hace ocho años que estoy aquí intentando recuperar esta finca con construcciones antiguas y terrenos de cultivo. Para ello se siguen criterios de bioconstrucción, reciclaje y permacultura. También se pretende recuperar la flora de la zona, así como frutales antiguos. Se ofrece alojamiento para dos personas en un cuarto independiente con baño, la ducha y la cocina son compartidas. Los trabajos a realizar son: atender el huerto y los árboles frutales, alimentar a los animales (gallinas, ovejas y un perro), colaborar en la reconstrucción de edificaciones antiguas, reforestar con flora autóctona, arreglar caminos, restaurar paredes de piedra, limpiar la finca de especies invasoras, cocinar, limpiar la casa… y, en definitiva, todas las labores que se realizan cada día. Organic farm situated in the most lush part of the island of Gran Canaria and only ten minutes walking from the closest village, Valleseco, which offers all the amenities. The area itself is perfect for hiking and observation of the Canary Islands flora, especially of the “laurisilva” ecosystem (subtropical humid bayleaf forest). I have been living here for 8 years, restoring this farm with its old buildings and farmland, always following the principles of green building, recycling and permaculture. The aim of the project is to recover the native flora of the area and old abandoned fruit trees. It is offered an accomodation for two in an independent house with toilette, sharing kitchen and shower. The work to be performed include: tend to the vegetable gardens and fruit trees, feeding animals (chickens, sheep and a dog), assist in the reconstruction of the old buildings, restoring paths and stonewalls, reforestation with native flora and eradication of invasive flora, cooking, clean the house... in short; all the tasks that should be done on a daily.
