Organic olive farm and agritourism destination at the feet of Sierra Nevada.

We are a family who run an olive farm with a hotel and a restaurant, Alqueria de Los Lentos in Nigüelas village (https://www.alqueriadeloslentos.com/). We are located at the feet of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the south of Spain and not so far from the beautiful city of Granada.
We are looking for people who can help and share, learn from each other and motivate each other, enjoy meeting and living together. We understand the value of a volunteer. You will also meet the team of the restaurant and the hotel : cleaning persons, waitresses and chefs.
We love the idea of exchanging knowledge, so if you know more about permaculture or bioconstruction, don't hesitate to help us.
You will be mainly helping with :
* daily tasks such as : feeding the chickens and cleaning the henhouse, preparing the firewood and organizing it, picking the horses’ manure and taking care of the compost, cleaning the common space (kitchen and library) and throwing away the garbage.
* weekly tasks such as : controlling the water pressure (solar panel, jacuzzi…).
* specific projects : building a mosaic for a patio, painting rooms’ walls, fixing stuff, planting aloe vera or other plants, taking care of the garden…
From beginning of 2026 till mid-june (?) , we want to focus on:
* improving infrastructures and building : for instance the mosaic’s patio.
* preparing the field for spring and summer planting.
What we would like to have as help :
* we aim to collaborate 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. Normally you have Thursday and Sunday off, but we can change the days.
* the timetable is up to you but better to start in the morning to have your free afternoon
* we are looking for people who stay for a longer period : 3 weeks at least.
* someone autonomous, who is not afraid to ask question when she/he is not sure, determined.
We offer:
* accommodation : a simple room with your own bathroom.
* internet available (free WIFI of the hostel)
* the food is NOT included : you have to buy your food (in the village : little grocery or 30min walking/7min biking you have LIDL and MERCADONA supermarket). But you will enjoy a nice common kitchen/library to cook your own meals.
* moments of sharing experiences and knowledge : eating from time to time together at the restaurant, drinking a beer, going to the associative bar (La Lolaina)...
We speak Spanish, English, Dutch and French.

* from Malaga Airport by bus to Granada and then bus 360 from "PALACIO DE CONGRESOS" to Nigüelas
Granada is not far away :
* by car : 20 min
* by bus : 30 min walking till the bus + take the regional bus 55 min > https://www.alsa.es/ search between Granada and E.Nigüelas (crossroads, near Mercadona)
The sea coast (playa Granada) :
* by car : 30 min
* by bus : 30 min walking till the bus stop + take the regional bus 45 min till Motril (Estaciones de autobuses near Playa Granada)
The ski slopes :
* from 40 min to 1h15 by car
Sierra Nevada hikings : for instance the Cruz del Zahor from the village (different hiking tours - look in Wikiloc to have an idea).
Nigüelas cultural life : La Lolaina (instagram), museo del aceite (olive oil museum - Centro de Interpretación Almazara La Erilla- Molino de Nigüelas - Museo del Aceite), monumento natural La Falla de Nigüelas, Anfiteatro La Razuela… and more !
