We are a family living in the village of Nigüelas in the beautiful Lecrín Valley, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the south of Spain. Here we take care of an olive grove and a small rural project where nature, agriculture and hospitality come together. Our place is part olive farm, part rural house where travellers come to enjoy the landscape and the slow rhythm of village life. We try to live as sustainably as possible and we are gradually developing the land with organic practices, composting systems and natural gardening. We enjoy welcoming people from different cultures and exchanging knowledge and experiences. WWOOFers who stay with us become part of a small temporary community where we learn from each other and share daily life. If you are interested in permaculture, gardening, compost systems or simple rural living, you will probably enjoy your time here. Typical activities can include: Daily tasks such as • feeding the chickens and cleaning the henhouse • collecting horse manure and managing the compost • preparing and organizing firewood • helping keep shared spaces tidy • watering and basic garden care Seasonal and farm related tasks such as • preparing the land for planting • planting aloe vera or other plants • helping with the olive trees and garden areas • small ecological or creative projects in the outdoor spaces (for example a mosaic patio) Sometimes there are also practical tasks related to maintaining the property and the land. We collaborate around 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. Weekends are usually free but we can adapt depending on the moment and the projects. We appreciate people who are autonomous, curious and willing to learn. Staying at least 3 weeks works best for everyone. What we offer Accommodation: A simple private room with bathroom. Community life: We enjoy moments together such as cooking, having a drink, going to the local bar in the village or simply sharing stories after the day. Facilities: Shared kitchen and library space Internet (wifi) In summer, when the hotel is very busy, accommodation may be on the campsite area, so bringing a tent or camper can be useful. You can still use the common facilities such as kitchen, shower and swimming pool. Languages spoken here: Spanish, English, Dutch and French. Nigüelas is a peaceful Andalusian village with beautiful hiking routes in the Sierra Nevada and a lively small cultural scene. Granada city and the Mediterranean coast are both within easy reach. We are always happy to meet people who enjoy nature, simple living and cultural exchange.
