🌱 We’re urgently looking for passionate gardeners to care for and develop our vegetable garden and tree nursery on our land in Southern Spain! If you love working with plants, vegetables, and permaculture principles — this could be for you. 🌿 More details below! 📌 Please read this text carefully and in full before getting in touch with us. We want to honestly, openly, and transparently share with you who we are, what we wish for — and what you can expect here. Find more information on our website: www.maitreya.earth 🌿 Who we are We are Michi, Karen, Enki (3 years old), Bas, and Nic (gay couple) — the heart of a small, growing community on an old almond plantation with 50 hectares of land in the beautiful south of Spain. For more than three years, we’ve been shaping this place step by step into a space that reconnects nature, people, and community — restoring balance with nature and promoting diversity for both humans and the environment. Alongside us, there are volunteers and day visitors. Some stay for two to three weeks, others for several months and become a temporary part of our community. All options are possible — and welcome — though they come with a few criteria (see below). Our daily life is lively, honest, nature-connected, and sometimes demanding. From the experience of over 250 volunteers, we’ve learned what this place needs, what it stands for, how we want to live together here (especially in the long term), and what it takes to make this vision a reality. 🌱 Our Vision & Values - This place is meant to be a space where: - Nature and people come into harmony and connection - People live honestly, respectfully, and openly with each other - A culture of nonviolent, appreciative feedback is lived - Open, authentic, and clear togetherness is everyday life - Everyone takes responsibility for themselves, the community, and nature - Life is celebrated — with depth, ease, and real encounters Our values are not just nice words but part of our daily reality: ✨ Open and honest communication → Everything can be said here. Joy, doubts, anger, sadness — everything has space. We believe everything becomes solvable when we stay in contact. ✨ Responsibility & Co-Creation → Everyone gets involved: cooking, building, gardening, childcare, tidying up, brainstorming ideas. We’re not looking for consumers, but for co-creators. ✨ Healthy, vegan food → We cook fresh, vegan, and healthy meals daily. Everyone helps, and we enjoy eating together. ✨ Yoga, mindfulness & sharing emotions → There's an open invitation to daily yoga, weekly heart-sharing circles, and daily check-ins at breakfast so we know how we’re all doing and stay in honest contact. ✨ Depth and Lightness → We love sitting by the fire, making music, dancing, singing, doing physical work, crying, laughing, and being real with each other. We exchange thoughts about life. And yes — conflicts are part of it too. We don’t aim for a perfect world but an honest, conscious togetherness where we stay connected. ✨ Sustainability & Connection to Nature → Permaculture, recycling, rainwater harvesting, solar systems. We strive to give more back than we take. ✨ Inspiration for others → We want to inspire and encourage people and create a place that connects, inspires, and strengthens awareness for living in harmony with nature. 📌 What to expect here 👉 Daily tasks: gardening, cooking, cleaning, construction projects, space design, childcare, contributing creative ideas 👉 Daily yoga and weekly sharing circles 👉 Breakfast check-ins 👉 Vegan, healthy food 👉 Time in nature, campfires, trips to the sea, spontaneous music and dance evenings 👉 Conscious process work in the form of breathwork, bodywork, and similar experiences 👉 An honest, conscious community lifestyle 📌 Who we’re (currently) not looking for ❌ People looking for a retreat during personal crises ❌ People unwilling to actively and responsibly get involved ❌ People expecting others to carry their personal processes or be responsible for their well-being ❌ People who see community as a "holiday feeling" rather than active co-creation ❌ People with more question marks than ideas in their current life situation Current projects: - Expanding and maintaining the garden - Developing and planting the pool area - Caring for and planting in the tree nursery - Creative beautification of the place - Helping with crowdfunding to financially support the project - Supporting promotion of the space for potential co-livers (people wanting to live and work here) - General promotion of the place (especially for retreats) - Repair work of all kinds ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 🌱 Right now, we are urgently looking for garden & permaculture enthusiasts for our vegetable garden in Southern Spain! 🌱 On our 50-hectare piece of land in Southern Spain, we’ve created a beautiful vegetable garden based on permaculture principles. The garden already has established beds, a variety of vegetables growing, and a small tree nursery with young trees. What we’re urgently looking for now is one or more people to lovingly and carefully continue taking care of this space — maintaining, expanding, and bringing in their own ideas and creativity. Your tasks could include: - Taking care of existing vegetable beds: weeding, mulching, watering - Harvesting and replanting vegetables - Raising seedlings and planting them out - Maintaining and improving compost areas - Designing new plant beds or optimizing existing ones - Watering and caring for young trees, and raising new ones in our tree nursery - Developing and creating new permaculture elements and ideas We’ve been taking care of the garden ourselves for a while, but our capacity is currently stretched. This garden now needs someone (or several people) to give it the loving attention it deserves and help it thrive. If you have experience in organic gardening, permaculture design, or simply a deep passion for working with nature — we’d love to hear from you! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Whether for two, three weeks or longer — here you have the opportunity to be part of a living community, discover new skills, and get to know yourself better through connection with others. 📌 For people wanting to live here long-term We regularly receive inquiries from people imagining living here long-term. We truly appreciate this vision and the recognition of our community and this place — and at the same time want to state clearly: 👉 Real community takes time. We’re not looking for someone who assumes after two weeks that they’ll be "moving in" or can immediately build their own space. It’s about honestly and authentically getting to know each other in everyday life — with all its highs and lows. Seeing how we truly live and work together. How we handle conflicts, grow together, and build a stable, reliable coexistence. Long-term steps and plans arise here from genuine relationships, shared experiences, and trust that grows over months. If you're interested in living here long-term, we ask for a minimum stay of 6 months to really get to know each other and then see together what a long-term life here could look like. For this, we’re specifically looking for you if you… ✅ Know what you want in life and have a clear sense of how you want to shape your life ✅ Bring clear skills and experiences you want to contribute to a community ✅ Have gathered life experience and take responsibility for your own themes and processes, and know how to support yourself ✅ Have a clear feeling for how you want to live in community ✅ Are financially, emotionally, and relationally (whether single or in a relationship) stable and grounded — or are honestly and consciously on that path 📌 Who we’re (currently) not looking for (see above) 📬 How to become part of this If you recognize yourself in what we’ve described here and genuinely feel excited about staying here for a while — or maybe a longer part of your life — we’d love for you to write us a message answering the following questions: 1. Why do you want to come to us specifically? What draws you to our place, our values, and our lifestyle? What do you expect from your time here — and what are you ready to give? 2. What skills and experiences do you bring that you’d like to contribute to a community? Tell us about what makes you who you are — whether it’s craftsmanship, gardening, creativity, organization, or interpersonal qualities. 3. How do you handle conflicts and challenging moments in communal life? Feel free to share an example from your life when you experienced and resolved a difficult situation in a group or community. 4. Where are you in your life right now — internally and externally? What have you already sorted out for yourself, what moves you at the moment, and what values and visions guide you on your path? Please only get in touch if you’ve read the entire text and genuinely feel comfortable with our values and framework. We look forward to meeting openhearted, kind people — whether for a few weeks or maybe much longer. 🌿✨ With love, Michi, Karen, Enki, Bas & Nic
