Please read the entire profile, I have made it short but it makes every bodies life much easier if you know what we offer and expect.
The farm is situated in a beautiful forest in the south of Spain, it is 40 000m2 mostly avocados, oranges and chestnuts, plums, olive trees... It is surrounded by a river which brings quantities of water and life to the farm. Our vegetable garden is growing with permaculture and organic technics. The house is confortable and has great social areas for meals and BBQs. It is 30 min away drive from the beach town of Estepona. Lots of hiking, places to meditate, swim and relax.
We are now entering phase 2 of the farm project, making it financially sustainable.
I have family members (a couple) now as my farm managers, they come from Nicaragua and are both very nice and very hard working. the profile of woofers will now be different, we are looking for woofers that have a minimum age of 25 yo, are ready to work with energy, enthusiasm and reliability. Farm work is not easy and the farm is a wonderful place to learn, change life style, meet people and be in nature but IT IS NOT A FULL PAID HOLIDAY CAMP. Here you will learn about a wide variety of tasks, from running a large water collection and watering system, growing some of the best tomatoes earth can give, vegetables, fruits, nuts, making fences, stones walls and much more. The tasks are given and supervised by Nico and his wife, all tools and product are of course available. We also dry food, make jams, vacuum pack, cook and eat :-) our food. We are in the process of building a lab to transform most of our product, making avocado virgin and cold pressed for example.
You will have plenty of time to go and visit, relax, have nice food and be with pleasant people, but woofers will be expected to make efforts for the farm and the project.
We do not cater for ANY special diets in particular vegans.
This is a complete return to nature experience, no towns no roads, limited wifi. The forest, the animals, the river it is beautiful and wild, civilisation if left behind, the rhythm changes, here you will find peace, nature and a healthy life. Make sure this is what you are looking for!!!!
Because we had many problems with Pets, killing chickens, destroying garden etc in principle we no longer accommodate pets. If you have a properly trained or working companion then we can discuss.
WE NO LONGER ACCOMMODATE VEGAN OPTIONS FOR MEALS (This is VERY important to note). Only omnivores and vegetarians. We cook, eat, and clean together as a small community. Be ready to share the tasks.
We are located in the middle of a biosphere, surrounded by forests of pine trees, with wild boars, goats, foxes... A river runs above and around the farm, bringing quantities of fresh water. The farm is 15 min drive from the next village and 35 min from the next coastal town of Estepona. It is composed of three bedrooms with total accommodation for 7 people. It is simple but clean and comfortable. Two bathrooms with toilets.
We have lots of orange trees, avocados, chestnuts, then a mix of fruit trees and olives. I want to replace oranges and avocados with more variety. Also add some ponds for ducks and chickens for egg collection...
The farm has solar panels and a generator, the cooking, fridge and hot water runs on gas.
