Las Palmas
"update: Woow, from the bottom of our heart we thank you for all the wonderfull support you gave us over the winter time. We finally could make dreams come true that we had over years in a few month. thank you so much for your beautiful energy.
We are now taking a break until May 2026 to focus on our harmonious community. For the future, we are specifically looking for people who can help with easy construction work and/or help design the finca in imaginative ways, like wall painting, mosaics, etc. If this appeals to you, please feel free to write us a message."
Hello everyone,
My name is Ina and I used to be an Arts teacher at the German School Las Palmas. About four years ago we moved with a music band onto the land around an old gofio mill in a valley on the outskirts of Las Palmas.
We are a community around 15 to 20 people of different ages and origins (Canary islands, Spain, Chile, Cuba, Colombia, Poland, Germany, Italy, Kurdistan and Guinea).
The four main pillars of our community are permaculture, music, art and healing. We also have quite a few cats living with us that you could get to know better.
We join for coffee and breakfast around 9 and talk about the daily projects. Working hours are from 9 to 13. Examples of the work we do are recooperating the earth for future planting, planting, harvesting and taking good care of the soil and the plants themselves. Around 13:30 when you hear the sound of the mussel (an ancient Canarian calling tradition) it’s time for everyone to get together and enjoy vegetarian/vegan lunch. The rest of the meals are self-service but food is included.
We have different rooms and caves on the property, two communal kitchen and bathroom with hot water. We also have a meditation cave and music cave with some instrument free to use.
We are into making music, art and ceramics. There is a ceramic workshop and a diverse collection of tools for wood and metal work.
The beautiful old town centre is 10 minutes by bus or a half an hour walk away. I takes two buses and about half an hour to reach the three kilometre long beach of Las Palmas that is the perfect destination to go surfing or swimming. We are a volcanic island with many different micro climates that you can explore hiking.
