Hello, dear Woofers! My name is Floriane, I just bought this wonderful finca and dream of turning it into a little ecological paradise and establishing a lifestyle closer to self-sufficiency. But it's not quite organized yet, and not done. That’s why I need help setting it up and organizing it all step by step. The fruit trees are already large (banana, papaya, avocado, and others), and the vegetables are already planted and already need some care. I live here alone for now, but I really want to share this place with Woofers and others. I have six chickens and three cats who have lived here longer than I have! I have a professional project to sell locally processed products made from the farm's fruits and vegetables, but it will take a few months before it can be done. The farm is located in the north of Tenerife, a few kilometers from Bajamar, and right next to the Anaga Nature Reserve! Hiking trails are accessible directly from the finca, as are seawater pools; it's a paradise for nature lovers! And yet, it's not isolated: Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo are popular seaside resorts, and the town of La Laguna is a half-hour drive away. There's also a bus stop a 10-minute walk from the finca! There's no real "typical" day because this is all so new, but generally speaking, taking care of the trees and vegetables, protecting them from insects, trimming branches, removing and cutting back unwanted plants, cutting up bananas and then banana trees, helping me with carrying and tinkering to improve the organization of the space and the reception of current and future woofers. The kitchen, toilets and bathroom, as well as the living room are shared. The woofers will have a private tent covered by a roof. Currently, there's a large standing tent (for one person or a couple) and a small, low-slung two-person tent. I plan to buy a second, tall one. As for meals, I personally don't eat breakfast but can provide the woofers with what they need (within reason). I like to cook at least at lunchtime. I don't have a specific diet but prefer farm produce or at least local produce. I don't use much meat or fish, but I can accommodate if there are any vegetarians. For dinner, there are no rules; we either cook and eat together, or I provide the cooking supplies, so I can respect everyone's rhythms. I ask for help with shared meals and maintaining common areas. I enjoy practicing yoga and meditation, playing percussion, and singing. I practice surfing and hiking from time to time, however I am neither a yoga teacher nor a surf teacher, it is possible to share yoga with people who already have a small base (mine is not very big), but for surfing it is better to contact a local surf school, which will also provide you with a board... I will be happy to share the good places with you and to come with you sometimes, share discussions and musical moments if you are musicians, and to help you progress in Spanish or French; even if I speak the 4 languages I mentioned, I favor the local language, Spanish, when possible.
